Al Cogsworth is an endearing and curious (albeit aloof and at times socially inept) Therian Electi who was raised in the Frontier under the longstanding ex-Vitric “Brass-Boys” gang. It was here his intrepid talent for Post-Frontier Engineering was honed into a master’s skill–he even carries a tiny mechanical automaton (and about a dozed gears, springs and sprockets) with him, almost wherever he goes. He has come to ERA out of being the most efficient academic residence for researching both his Electi and non-frontier technology.

His alleged Electi ability occurs whilst he is resting, in which he appears to frequently enter a sleep paralysis state. In this state, he has been said to be able to “transfer his perspective consciousness” to most small-scale mechanical devices within a considerably short diameter of his location.
