Brought to ERA not by choice, but by court orders, Kathy “Splats” Morrison left her life of crime behind her in Southern Canada to seek out a second chance at life on campus, offered to her as an alternative for prison time. While she yearns for the day of her release at ERA, Splats is set to make the most of her life as she can while she’s here. A well-known troublemaker and vandal, Splats can often be seen around campus with her signature loud coloured clothing and an equally loud voice to boot. She is energetic, impulsive, persistent, and sometimes downright obnoxious. She prides herself in her carefree lifestyle of socializing, partying, exploring, and most important to her, graffiti. Behind closed doors, she is often involved in many shady activities and groups in ERA. Although hard to approach at first, those that get to know her see that deep down, she holds a deep appreciation to those that care for her.
Splats’ signature Electi ability is material manipulation, which allows her to combine any contained liquid and object together, transferring the objects traits to the fluid. The object is fused and consumed but must remain fully submerged in the liquid. Shaking or stirring the liquid helps accelerate the process. A simple example would be mixing a metal coin inside a bottle of water, resulting in a gray, slightly thick metallic fluid mixture. Generally, any fluid and object can be mixed if it is contained, but the larger the object and more viscous the liquid, the more energy intensive the process is. It is for this reason that Splats prefers to use simple spray paint cans for this process, allowing her to quickly combine and spray her mixtures. The ability requires direct physical contact with the container, mental focus, and only lasts a day at most. Additionally, the “fusing” of materials is quite primitive; mixing a can of paint and a cell phone would not allow one to paint “liquid phone” on a wall, but rather useless electronic slag. It is for this reason that living creatures are not desirable for this process.
