Power Down is focused on the Electi students of the Electi Rehabilitation Academy. E.R.A. is a recently launched government effort to smoothen Electi integration into society by sending Electi individuals into a specially designed education program that would “set them on the right path”, so to speak. In truth, however, the projects and their administrators are more concerned with the reputation of Electii and work towards ensuring their safety from ill-interested parties, including their government.
Electii in ERA would receive a few years of higher education, classes to learn about their abilities and their discovered nature, and the opportunity to experience living in a tight-knit community. After finishing the program, students would receive scholarships and government approval to gain further academic education aimed to promise them a place in society and a brighter future.
The facility itself is located in the northern parts of Montana, USA, on a large mountain range, far from society with the nearest town half an hour’s drive away. The project is secretive, and the major public would most likely only hear little of it. This is done to prevent any sort of harm done to the facility and its students. The same effort can be seen in the tight security ERA boasts, with armed guards patrolling the fences of the facility and towers watching over the surrounding forests.
The project’s secrecy has led the major public to believe the site is a secret testing facility, alongside other conspiracies that might circle in public- yet even the students and the staff of ERA don’t have the entire grasp of what’s exactly happening in the facility. After all, nobody knows who runs the program, and the director of ERA is seen by very few personnel.
All the students in ERA are Electi. Any non-Electi characters are part of ERA’s staff and personnel, though many Electi have also been hired.
