The Children of Purity

Groups of Interest

The Children of Purity (CoP or “The Children” for short) are an American radical terrorist organization and hate group towards primarily Electi and Therians. Once considered a minor political party during the peak of the movement’s history throughout the mid-20th to early 21st centuries, the Children quickly rose to power through successful fear campaigns across the country, against the socio-political assimilation of Anomalous events, persons, and ideologies, in favor of “purifying” American society and culture through traditional, conservative, and pro-monotheistic values. Despite this, exposure of their true agendas came to light in Detroit, Michigan by two unknown police officers in 2016 after they were caught conspiring and executing a major terrorist attack on the city. Now decentralized into niche pocketed sects of the nation, all major political parties and religious denominations have long since denounced the group and its activities.

The Children of Purity (CoP or “The Children” for short) are an American radical terrorist organization and hate group primarily targeting Electi and Therians. Once a minor political party, the movement rapidly gained momentum throughout the mid-20th to early 21st centuries, fueled by fear, xenophobia, and religious fundamentalism in response to the increasing presence of Anomalous events and individuals.

Origins (1865 – Early 1900s): Post-Civil War

The ideological roots of the Children of Purity can be traced back to post-Civil War America, when radical factions of various religious and nationalist groups sought to uphold what they viewed as “traditional values” against the shifting tides of modernization and Therian integration. Many, who had previously owned Therian slaves and treated them like cattle or work animals, saw those with anthropormorphic features to be beneath Man, and thus tarnished the image of God. The first recorded mentions of the term “Children of Purity” appeared in underground literature around the Reconstruction Era, advocating for the “cleansing” of society from non-believers, the “cursed,” and the “impure.”

Though scattered and unorganized, these extremist sects played a significant role in early American conspiracist movements, attributing technological progress and social change to supernatural forces and divine punishment. Some schalors believe this resistance to change and modernization was what directly contributed to the effects of the Second Anomaly, in which the American Frontier became a land frozen in time to the period of the early 1900s. However, many critics pan this theory, as it has yet to be backed by any solid evidence. Nevertheless, the time-locked land that should have perfect for the extremist sects ironically saw very few of the Children staying near for long, as they saw all Anomalous Events as acts against God.

Post-Second Anomaly (190X – 1970s): The Rise of Political Influence

By the mid-20th century, the Children of Purity had transformed into an organized political entity, rebranded simply as the CoP (short for Conservative Party), capitalizing on Cold War-era paranoia and nationalist fervor. Throughout the 1950s to 1970s, they successfully infiltrated local and state-level politics, gaining seats in smaller legislative bodies across the southern United States. The group expanded its focus from political lobbying to public fear campaigns, linking Electi and Therians to crime, societal collapse, and moral decay. However, states that passed CoP-supported legislature saw far more hate crimes, discrimination, and assaults and murders than anywhere else in the country. Up to the day of the Third Anomaly, mainstream religious institutions and major political parties began to distrust the Children of Purity due to their increasingly radical actions and inflammatory rhetoric.

Post-Third Anomaly (1980s – Present): Radicalization and Decline

The Third Anomaly—a global supernatural event—marked a turning point for the movement. With undeniable evidence of Electi abilities, the Children of Purity’s rhetoric shifted from broad religious extremism to an active campaign against anomalous individuals. In the 1980s to 1990s, the CoP underwent a major split—moderate members attempted to integrate into mainstream right-wing politics, where they maintained a small yet steady party following, based on the promises of low anomalous/Electi activities deemed dangerous for the public, and policies to keep humans and therians as separate as possible. Meanwhile, radical factions turned to domestic terrorism and underground operations, opting to forego political rebranding and return to form as The Children. Still, many of these members were one and the same, such as an elected CoP official hiding their identity as a Child of Purity, and funding or helping engage with conspiracies to gain more power.

The most glaring example of this happened in Michigan in 2016, where two Detroit police officers exposed a large-scale CoP conspiracy to orchestrate a terrorist attack on the city and blame pro-Electi rioters, thus helping the CoP win more seats in local and state government. Unfortunately, the plot was discovered too late, mainly due to the severe CoP-backed corruption of the Department, and resulted with the cost of hundreds of casualties, including the two whistleblower officers. The federal investigation that followed dismantled the group’s national network and exposed even deeper widespread corruption, dealing a major blow to the movement.

Following the Detroit Attack of 2016, public sentiment shifted far away from fear and closer toward scientific and humanitarian approaches to understanding anomalous individuals. As a result, the Children of Purity lost their legitimacy as a political movement and were officially classified as an extremist terrorist hate group. Now decentralized into pocketed sects scattered across the U.S., many of its splinter cells operate in secrecy, continuing to plot attacks against Electi, Therians, and other groups they consider “impure” to continue their ideological war that they’ve already lost.
