Online

Locations in ERA

While the physical world of ERA is limited, the Internet sure isn’t. Online, students can find an outlet to connect, network, and even find an escape from the chaos of real life. Despite this, ERA has still been trying to crack down on the many freedoms the Internet provides in order to maintain the utmost secrecy and privacy for its whereabouts, due to fear of anti-Electi factions (like the House or Children of Purity) finding the school and breaking in. For instance, the school has made efforts to isolate the userbase of students and staff to a mostly local network, so very little outside communication can be made, other than to friends and relatives. Because of this, students have taken to the Black Market to find workarounds from this censorship, and many have regained full access to the Internet once more.

ERA Bulletin Forum

ERA Administration has opened an online bulletin for campus-wide announcements and planned events. There are many ways students can access the bulletin: getting notifications of updates via email or text; visiting the private official website; or as a thread on Rabbl (see below). Students and clubs can also advertise their own events, run polls, make requests, list items for sale or trade, or offer service in exchange for credits. Staff can also use the board for any announcements regarding Administrative updates like class schedule changes, cancellations, or exam dates, while the guard force can put up Wanted posters, file Missing reports, or offer volunteer community service for credits.

Rabbl

Rabbl is a fictional pseudonymous social media platform launched in 2023, catered towards college students that allows users to create, view, and interact with discussion threads within a 5-mile radius. Because of its locality, ERA has chosen this app to be the default and primary platform for online communication between the student body. The app can be used in two modes:

Free Chat

Launched as the original mode of communication on Rabbl, the Free Chat is an open and ongoing discussion board open to all users within ERA limits, and functions like an old online chatroom. Here, students can log on with pseudonymous usernames and converse with potentially anyone and everyone that is online and in the chatroom concurrently.

SMS

Direct messaging was implemented to Rabbl a year after launch. In DMs, users can drop the anonymity of the free chat or threads to converse more privately and intimately with individuals or in private group chats, and friend or save each other as contacts. However, this also allows users to choose to remain anonymous when opening a DM.
