Pre-Tournament Intermission (Fall 2021-Spring 2022)

Main Story Arcs

Frozen Lake RP

Clyde decides to capitalize on Lake Bob again and charges for admission, this time as a Winter event. He sells tickets to Fraise, Kai, new student Cassie (tall, loud and autistic), Hugo, and Leaf.

Brown warns Leaf not to attend, due to SOL’s past shenanigans, but Leaf doesn’t listen and goes anyway, wanting instead to bond with another Therian. Lily brings ice skates made out of Bob’s sharpened crystals and everyone goes skating. Kai and Cassie immediately hit it off and start flirting, while Fraise and Hugo just waffle around.

Outside, Brown tells Kay about Clyde’s newest scheme, and Kay decides to investigate. She and Brown find that the fence they all went through to get to the lake was being recorded by a security camera, causing them to panic.

Brown and Kay crash the event, telling everyone to leave. Clyde argues that the camera was tampered with by him and Bob, but would have reactivated with their motion detected. This argument goes on until everyone else starts panicking, causing Lily to formulate a full-scale plan to cover their tracks when escaping. Brown, Hugo, and Kay go with Lily and Bob to trip an avalanche alarm to distract the guards, while Bob, Kai, Cassie, Leaf and Fraise go back to the fence and evacuate, using their abilities to climb over. Everyone successfully plays their role, and Bob has to shed his crystal leg armor to escape.

Despite their successful escape attempt, Leaf blames Brown for everything that happened at the Lake and refuses to talk to him afterwards, making new friends with SOL.

Kai and Cassie reconvene later to destress and decide to become a couple. Which was totally not rushed at all.

Student Body Election

Dr. Gerald “Big Arm” Ivory, Chairman of the Vitric’s Science Division, becomes appointed Chancellor of ERA by the school’s Administration, and is heralded as a celebrity by students and staff alike.

To better bridge the gap between students and Administration, Big Arm sets up a Student Body Council, where anyone can run for any position. Naturally, multiple candidates line up for President.

Leaf also considers running, but drops out due to the pressures of politics. Internet influencers Riolfie and Lemonlord both run for lesser positions, like secretary and treasurer, and both get the positions as nobody else runs for them.

An open debate is held, where each candidate speaks their beliefs and answers the students’ most burning questions. People like Kay’s attitude, though voting for Lucas as a joke is also a common theme. Pearl is not happy about this sentiment. Fraise is just happy to be there.

(A poll is held in the PD Discord server, where each members’ votes are collected on a Google Form.)

Kay is elected President of the Student Body, and is given the option to choose a running mate as Vice President. She chooses Fraise, the most level-headed of the three other candidates, who also coincidentally collected the second-most votes.

Hugo’s Piano Mishap/Mini-Arc

Sybil, the Clover’s new bartender, suggests the casino gets a grand piano for music and ambience. Pearl, the dealer, volunteers, but ambitious new employee Hugo takes her place to try to impress Skyber. He hires Bob to help carry it, who only agrees because of Sybil, his requited crush.

Hugo and Bob drag the piano straight down the shopping district’s main road, littered with security cameras watching them turn into the alley leading down to the Casino. Skyber, suspecting something wrong (especially with Bob there), questions Hugo about his methods to get the piano down there. Hugo explains what he did, enraging Skyber. A terrified Hugo is then tasked to have the footage of the piano and his involvement erased by any means, lest his mishap jeopardizes the sanctity of the Four Scaled Clover.

Hugo sneaks into the staff area and locates the Security Department through the ventilation system, where Charlie falls asleep in the surveillance room due to overworking himself. Hugo finds the computer containing the footage and deletes it, scrubbing the entire day’s files from the system.

Charlie wakes up from his phone ringing and leaves to take the call, allowing Hugo to escape the room. When the officer returns, he is ordered to check the files for suspicious activity the day of the piano mishap, only to find absolutely nothing there. He raises an alarm, suspecting a security breach, locking down the building.

Hugo bumps into a new guard rookie, Jett, while escaping. After a scuffle, Hugo bests her and climbs back through the vents using his ability. Charlie finds her disoriented, but mistakes her for the intruder impersonating as a guard, seeing she has no ID or badge (she forgot them in the barracks). Hugo manages to get away while the guards fight amongst themselves.

Charlie and Jett clear their misunderstanding the morning after. Jett reports that she saw the intruder using “light blue strings” but didn’t see his face. Charlie checks the ERA records and matches the ability with Hugo’s, and the two visit his dorm to interrogate him. Hugo denies his involvement with any Underground activity, but confesses that his good friend “Pablo” was the one at fault for everything, and that he and his light blue strings should be punished for everything he did, projecting his self-hatred onto his character. Unfortunately for him, Charlie is not stupid. Hugo is presumably put on house arrest until the guards return for a full arrest warrant.

Hugo arrives back at the Casino to report the news, only for Skyber to tell him off again. She fires him from the Clover, but maintains her obligation to keep him registered in her upcoming Tournament event…

However, Hugo drops out of the event, retreating to his dorm for the proceeding story arc to reflect. Yet, Nova does arrive to help Hugo not face the full extent of the law and disguise as the Pablo character in question, and when Joan and Oliver come to his dorm to arrest Hugo, they take Pablo instead, confused that he is a real separate person. Unfortunately for Charlie, his team is stupid.
