Hello hello, dear prospective participant, and welcome to Power Down! If you're reading this page, it means that someone already in the project has decided to show you a little taste of what we have to offer, to help you better decide whether you want to participate in our little pow-wow. (If you didn't have that happen to you and just randomly stumbled upon this site... uh, that sucks?)
To avoid having 20 people make the same sales pitch 80 times, we've made this onboarding page to help explain what the project is and what it may offer you if you participate.
WHO ARE YOU WHERE AM I
Welcome, one and all, to the Electi Rehabilitation Academy! This is a secretive government facility located somewhere in the mountain range of Montana, USA whose goal is to help Electi properly integrate into society. What are Electi? I'm so glad I asked; They're anomalous humans whose magical features can be pretty much anything - maybe they're made of rocks, maybe they zap people on command, maybe they can hover off the ground, or maybe they die if exposed to the sun and kinda got screwed in the genetic lottery. (That's a real character, by the way.)

Whether or not this facility has the best interests of its captives- I mean students in mind is up for debate, but regardless, said students have their own agendas, group affiliations, and troubles to deal with on a daily basis. Someone set up an underground fight ring! The entire water system is flooded by OrbeezTM! There's a trading card game that lets you punch other people in the schnoz! There's always something happening and never for the benefit of the people involved.
This is not all we have to offer, of course - we have other settings, a semi-detailed history, school staff, numerous factions - but this covers the basics of it.

Do I Get Dental?
No, but this project is a collaborative writing/RP project where you (yes, YOU) get to have pretty much equal say on what happens and why as anyone else.
Occassionaly the "Storytellers" (mods) will organize some big event that's plotted ahead of time, but absolutely nothing is stopping you from starting a new story with whoever you want, whether through interactive RP or just busting out a word document and typing it out!
What Else?
Writing is not the only avenue we create with: we have art, videos, music sometimes (if someone is insane enough to try it), and a goddamn website. Any idea you got is a valid one as long as everyone else is up for it.
And as a final note - i mean, we're pretty cool to hang with 👉👈. The server ends up being as much (if not somewhat more) of a friend group than a writing project, so you get the fun benefits of being woken up at 2 AM to a ping from someone who really needs you to hop on VC and see a funny meme.
