Artemis is the resident perky redhead of ERA, a self-appointed “veteran” of the academy and its walks of life. One of the first students to enroll in the program, she couldn’t be happier to live on a campus filled with the abnormal and supernatural, an escape from what she considered to be a bleak and painfully average life in her hometown of Sacramento, California.

She’s a beacon of confidence and passionate, boundless energy; eager to make the most of what she considers to be the most interesting part of her life. Artemis is often found behind the many storefronts of ERA’s shopping district, trying everything the academy has to offer; when off the job, she meticulously fills her free time with hobbies, her friends, and any misadventure she can get involved with.

The ability of her namesake, “Fail-Not,” as she affectionately titled it, ensures that Artemis will hit any physical throw she aims for, intentionally or otherwise. This causes reality to practically bend towards the probability of her shot connecting, often appearing as absurd luck, like a piece of crumpled paper bounding perfectly off of a ceiling fan to land directly into a trash can behind her.

The ability is limited to objects Artemis physically throws, so no guns—unless she throws the bullets, which is likely less effective than shooting them. While “Fail-Not” ensures Artemis’ shot will hit its target, it doesn’t dictate when. The more unlikely a throw is, the longer it will take to connect—in the most extreme cases, longer than her own lifespan—but it will hit eventually, as long as it’s before the universe’s heat death.
