Born in Egypt, Joan’s family moved to the States when he was young and he spent his childhood in Brooklyn. Growing up pink, a lion, and Egyptian, Joan learned to ignore mean words and odd looks. He mellowed out to the harsh edges of the world, even after the discovery that he was also an Electi, he never let what others thought of him to remove the lazy smile from his maw.

Joan is the textbook definition of a Fat Cat. He is lazy, laid back and a bit of a smartass. Despite that and to the surprise of his colleagues, Joan is a well respected officer in E.R.A’s guard force, overlooking communications and logistics. When he puts his heart into it, Joan is a dedicated worker and a true friend to those he keeps close.

Joan can spout a thick, black smoke from every orifice of his body. While he can bear smoke more than others would, too much of it and he would cough up like anyone else. He avoids using his powers unless absolutely neccasry, citing it as “smoking without the fun part.”
